We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Vehicle Supply Supervisor to join our Mid-Mile operations team and lead intercity transportation activities at the provincial level. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and managing daily line-haul operations, securing and allocating fleet capacity across owned and contracted vehicles, and ensuring the timely, cost-efficient movement of parcels between hubs and provincial centers.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, organize, and supervise daily intercity transportation operations to ensure on-time movement of parcels, returns, and equipment in line with agreed service levels
- Secure and allocate transport capacity across owned and contracted fleet based on parcel volume, vehicle capacity, and demand
- Design, schedule, and monitor forward and reverse logistics routes, including loading processes, trip timing, and safety standards
- Monitor daily fleet capacity and operational flow to prevent congestion at sorting centers and provincial hubs
- Manage relationships with drivers, carriers, and transport partners, including performance evaluation, contractor database updates, and competitive rate alignment
- Source and reserve capacity for B2B shipments, return-to-seller (RTS) movements, equipment transfers, and third-party requests
- Control transportation costs through cost-per-parcel (CPP) monitoring, cost center analysis, and OPEX forecasting
- Oversee insurance processes, incident handling, and coordination with maintenance teams on preventive repairs
- Supervise driver performance through route assignment, driving behavior monitoring, and adherence to safety and quality standards
- Review and approve transport documentation, including waybills, trip records, freight cost reconciliation, and payment approvals
- Track and analyze key performance indicators such as OTD, OCT, CPP, and fleet utilization, and drive corrective actions
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly analytical reports on fleet performance, costs, contractor performance, and improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- BS degree in logistics management, industrial engineering, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in transportation operations, logistics, or fleet management, preferably in mid-mile or multi-province distribution networks
- Proven track record in managing mixed fleets (owned and contracted), vehicle allocation, and coordination across multiple hubs or provinces
- Strong command of transportation planning, route optimization, capacity management, and operational cost control in high-volume environments
- Experience in operational data analysis, freight cost optimization, budget management, and OPEX forecasting
- Proficiency in MS Excel and familiarity with data analysis tools; experience with TMS, LMS, or similar systems
- Experience in managing and evaluating drivers, contractors, and transport partners
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to collaborate across operations, planning, finance, HR, and maintenance teams
- Professional certifications in transportation, fleet management, or supply chain (e.g., CLTD, CSCP) are an advantage
- Familiarity with insurance processes, fleet safety standards, and transport risk management is a plus
